This photo was taken at our schools annual Terry Fox walk and during our Canada 150 years celebration, the dress code was to wear red and/or white. I chose this picture because of the way that the colours contrasted against each other. I liked the way the red of the flowers and the shirt contrast against the white of the subjects hair and how this makes the subject the stand out especially when the background is mostly blue and grey, making the subject the main focus of the photo and what draws the attention of the viewer first, even when the whole photo was shot in greater depth of field. |
This photo was taken during our schools Terry Fox walk. This photo was chosen because of the textures and the colours. I chose this photo because of the way the shadow of the tree look against the students and sidewalk as well as the texture of the tree itself. Another reason I chose this photo was because of the way the green of the tree and the grass looked against the students who were all dressed in various shades of reds and whites and some blues. |
This photo was taken during our Canada 150 activities. I used this photo because of light and perspective. I chose this photo because of the way the light reflected off of the schools windows and made it look as if the sky was on the school and how the lighting makes some of the students look like they are glowing. Another reason this photo was chosen was because of the perspective that is was taken; this photo is bottom weighted to get the most of the school in the photo. |
This photo was taken on Thanksgiving night. I chose this photo because of the colours and the composition of the photo. This photo was chosen for its colours because of the way that the reds contrasted against the white background. This photo was chosen for its composition because of the way that the subject in the picture is standing; so she appears to be making a triangle shape with arms. This photo is center weighted.

This photo was taken in my sisters room. I chose this photo because of the composition and the lighting and the colours, this picture is bottom weighted. The background is white and the pastel colours of the flowers make the black piano stand out as the centre focus of the picture. The lighting in the photo makes everything bright and more interesting to look at.

This photo was taken after our Thanksgiving meal of tacos. This picture was chosen because of the composition because the way that [my sisters] are standing in the photo make a triangle shape, going from shortest to tallest and shortest again. This picture was also chosen for the way that [my sisters] are wearing the darker colours and are standing against a white background. They were wearing fans over their faces because they are camera shy.

This photo was chosen because of the way the shadows of my plants looked, because shadows are usually darker and more dramatic looking but the shadows from the glass jars that my plant children are in make the shadows stand out more as brighter and shiny looking. I also chose this picture because of the dull background and dark shadows compared to the bright green of my plants.
|
This photo was chosen because of the weight of the picture and the colours of the flowers. This photo is side weighted, drawing the viewer to the left side of the photo. The colours of the flowers stand out because the other colours in the picture are rather dull and all similar to one another as cool colours but the flowers stand out because they are brighter, warmer colours compared to the rest of the photo.

I chose this photo for Autumn because even though the photo is a silhouette, the trees are still visible and so is the colour of the sky. The trees are relavent to the season is because during the Autumn is when the trees start to die and so in this picture the trees are shown in a darker, more sombre tone to relate to their end. The colour of the sky is relavent to the season because the sky is showing more cool colours such as blues and purples to symbolize that during Autumn is when the weather starts getting colder.
|
This photo was chosen because during the Autumn is when the leafs on these plants start to die and you can see that starting here with this plant, where there are a few dead leaves under the living ones. This photo was also chosen because you can still see the sun making everything look brighter and full of life because this photo was taken during the beginnings of the season before everything would start to whither and get colder.

This is a photo taken the night of Halloween. This is the candy that we were handing out to the kids and here is what was leftover. I chose this photo because of all the colours of the candy and how all of them stand out but there are others that still stand out more. I also used this photo because of how bright and cheerful it looked even though Halloween is meant to be a holiday promoting the scary stuff.
